ECOS Magazine article – concentrated solar thermal power

Want to know more about solar thermal power plants that are already generating electricity for large towns overseas? ECOS Magazine has an excellent article in its latest issue, available for free online here. It features some concentrated solar thermal plants that are able to generate electricity 24 hours a day, and gives great information on the different types of technology — tower, dish, trough, and linear fresnel — with some nice photos and profiles of each. CSIRO also features in the article with a new photo of Solar Field 2 and quotes from our Deputy Chief Dr Jim Smitham.

ECOS is a non-profit magazine that’s been published by CSIRO  since 1974, making it one of the world’s longest running environmental magazines. You can read more articles at ecosmagazine.com.
